Chairperson Bowers opened the hearing on HB2013. Mike Heim, staff revisor, provided a briefing on the bill. After questions by the Committee were addressed by staff and Bryan Caskey, Director of Elections, Kansas Secretary of State's Office, the hearing continued.
Representative Esau testified in support of HB2013. Representative Esau indicated that this provides an opportunity for people who are nominated by write-in in a primary to have their names removed from the general election ballot. (Attachment 4)
After questions from the Committee were addressed, Chairperson Bowers closed the hearing on HB2013.
