Chairperson Bowers opened the hearing on HB2137. Chuck Reimer, staff revisor, provided a briefing on the bill. Mr. Reimer addressed questions from the Committee.
Joseph House testified in support of HB2137. Mr. House indicated that recruitment and retention are major issues where this bill could help and not eliminate personnel in areas where they are needed. (Attachment 8)
After questions from the Committee were addressed, the hearing continued.
Stephen Duerst testified in support of HB2137. Mr. Duerst stated that this will allow our communities to continue to provide core services such as fire services. (Attachment 9)
