Chairperson Johnson opened the hearing on SB30 and turned the meeting over to the Vice Chairperson Phillips. Vice Chairperson Phillips recognized Scott Wells, Revisor who provided an overview on SB30. He noted SB30 is the Kansas Retailers Sales Tax Act. The Department of Revenue requested an amendment on Page 2, Line 14 to strike North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and insert higher learning commission.
Proponents:
Kathleen Smith, Department of Revenue presented testimony in support of SB30.(Attachment 2) Ms. Smith stood for questions from the Committee.
Matt Lindsey, President, Kansas Independent College Association presented written testimony in support of SB30. (Attachment 3)
There being no other conferees, Vice Chairperson Phillips closed the hearing on SB30.
