KPERS Executive Director Alan Conroy provided informational testimony. (Attachment 5) Mr. Conroy responded to questions from the Committee.
Chairperson Kelly opened the hearing on HB2289.
Sean McCauley testified in support of HB2289 and provided examples of police officers being required to be on long-term administrative leave. (Attachment 6) Mr. McCauley responded to questions from the Committee.
Dennis Phillips testified in support of HB2289 and echoed the points that Mr. McCauley highlighted. (Attachment 7)
Ed Klumpp testified in support of HB2289 stating that it would provide clarity and consistency for law enforcement officers impacted by injury-related leave and administrative leave. (Attachment 8) Mr. Klumpp responded to questions from the Committee.
Nathan Eberline, Kansas Association of Counties, spoke in favor of HB2289 on behalf of James Crowl. (Attachment 9)
