Chairperson Bowers opened final action on SB58. Chuck Reimer, staff revisor, reviewed the bill. Mr. Reimer distributed and explained a balloon amendment. Additional comments were made by the Committee. (Attachment 5)
Senator Fitzgerald moved, Senator Pilcher-Cook seconded, to recommend SB58 favorably for passage.
Discussion ensued. Questions from the Committee were addressed by staff and Carol Williams, Executive Director, Kansas Governmental Ethics Commission. Chairperson Bowers agreed to the committee's request to put the bill aside to allow for more discussion on the bill.
