Chairperson Kerschen called for final action on SB47.
Chairperson Kerschen asked for comments from the sub-committee that met to study the bill. Senator Estes, who chaired the sub-committee, asked Tamera Lawrence from the Revisor's office to summarize their report.
Senator Francisco proposed several balloon amendments. (Attachment 2)
Senator Francisco moved and Senator Taylor seconded to adopt the balloon amendments. Motion passed.
Senator Francisco then moved to amend the balloon on pg 13,e2 to read that commissioners remit all money to the Compliance Education Fund. Amendment passed.
Discussion followed. Senator Kerschen expressed concerns about unannounced inspections. He proposed an amendment that would require a 24 hour notice before inspections would take place. (Attachment 3)
Senator Kerschen moved and Senator Billinger seconded this amendment. Motion failed. Senator Pyle called for division. Results were 3 in favor, 6 opposed
Senator Berger moved and Senator Francisco seconded to recommend SB47 as amended for passage. Motion carried.
Senator Kerschen adjourned the meeting at 9:30.
