Chairperson Tyson opened a hearing on SB111.
Adam Siebers presented to the Committee a description of SB111. He stood for questions.
Cindy Green presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB111 by saying this is "a potential new way to collect compensating use taxes due to the state, cities, counties". (Attachment 1) She stood for questions.
Nathan Eberline presented testimony to the Committee in support of SB111 by describing how "Colorado is modeling a system . . . for a solution". (Attachment 2) He stood for questions.
Written only testimony presented to the Committee in support of SB111 was provided by Kiel Mangus, City of Manhattan (Attachment 3); Thomas Markus, City of Lawrence (Attachment 4); and Dick Carter, Jr., on behalf of City of Overland Park (Attachment 5).
Kathleen Smith presented testimony to the Committee neutral to SB111 by describing how Kansas Department of Revenue could research the possibility of implementing a plan similar to Colorado's 2010 legislation. (Attachment 6) She stood for questions.
