Chairperson McGinn opened the hearing on SB 115. Jill Wolters provided an overview of the bill and responded to questions from Committee members. (Attachment 3)
Dave Trabert testified in support of the bill. This is the most pragmatic, common sense approach to closing the shortfall for this year without increasing taxes or cutting spending. While not ideal, it is the best option at this time. We need to be more efficient and, through performance-based reviews, the State could provide the same or better services at a better price. Mr. Trabert responded to questions from Committee members. (Attachment 4)
Scott Gates provided oral testimony neutral to the bill.
There being no further conferees, Chairperson McGinn closed the hearing on SB 115.
Chairperson McGinn adjourned the meeting at 11:47. The next meeting will be February 3, 2017.
