Staff briefed the Committee on this bill and answered questions.
The Chairman recognized Steve Christenberry, representing ABATE of Kansas. Mr. Christenberry said their membership supports HB2194 which would exempt veterans, military and law enforcement from driver's license fees for class "M" licenses. This bill would also allow the Motor Vehicle Division to accept motorcycle rider education completion certificates from curriculum recognized by the Department of Education. (Attachment 3)
There were no other proponents and no opponents so the Chairman closed the hearing on HB2194.
Chairman Proehl announced that the next meeting would be Thursday, February 9th and the Committee will do Final Action on HB2040, HB2060 and HB2170.
There being no further business before the Committee the meeting was adjourned.
