Chair Hoffman opened the hearing on HB2191 at 3:39pm.
Kyle Hamilton, Assistant Revisor, Office of The Revisor of Statutes, provided an overview of HB2191 and the statutes that it affects. (Attachment 2) There is a Fiscal Note for HB2191.
Christopher Tymeson, Chief Legal Counsel, Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism (KDWPT), appeared before the Committee in support of HB2191. Mr. Tymeson explained that KDWPT is moving toward electronic licensing. The changes made by HB2191 clarifies possession of licenses, forfeiture of physical copies of licenses, issuance of citations, and misconduct of officers. (Attachment 3)
