Chairman Kerschen opened the hearing on SB60 by asking Tamera Lawrence from the Revisor of Statutes Office to present an overview of the bill.
Chad Bontrager from the Department of Agriculture testified in support the the bill. The intent of the bill is to extend the sunset on pesticides, fertilizers, water resources,and dam inspection fees to 2025. (Attachment 1)
Randy Stookey testified as neutral on the bill since it did not raise any fees. However he requested that the bill be amended in section 12 to increase the Kansas Agricultural Remediation Board's Authority to reimburse the KDA for the agency's increased administrative expenses.(Attachment 2)
After a few questions and answers, Chairperson Kerschen closed the hearing on SB60.
