Chairperson Schmidt opened the hearing on SB33.
Scott Abbott, from Revisor of Statues, reviewed SB33.
Proponents:
Representative Dan Hawkins thanked the Committee members for the opportunity to testify on SB33. SB33 pertains to the organization of the Bob Bethell Joint Committee on Home and Community Based Services and KanCare Oversight. The changes will reflect the need to always have the leadership of the policy committee represented on the oversight committee while giving the Legislative leadership of the House and Senate appointments to the committee.(Attachment 1)
Sean Gatewood testified in support of this bill to improve oversight by replacing the direct ties between policy and budget.(Attachment 2)
