Chairperson Barker closed the floor to bill introductions and opened the hearing on HCR5003. He recognized Representative Steven Johnson as a proponent (Attachment 1). Questions were asked by Representatives Carpenter, Williams, and Whitmer.
Chairperson Barker recognized Roman Buhler, Director of the Madison Coalition, as a proponent of HCR5003 (Attachment 2). Representatives Highberger, Carpenter, and Williams had questions of Mr. Buhler.
Doug Wareham of the Kansas Bankers Association provided testimony in support of HCR5003 (Attachment 3). Questions were asked by Representatives Lusk and Miller.
Chairperson Barker then recognized Whitney Damron, who testified as a proponent on behalf of the Kansas Automobile Dealers Association (Attachment 4).
Chairperson Barker directed the Committee's attention to the written proponent testimony of Ryan Flickner, Kansas Farm Bureau (Attachment 5); Greg Krissek, Kansas Corn Growers Association (Attachment 6); Sean Miller, Kansas Building Industry Association (Attachment 7); and Eric Stafford, The Kansas Chamber (Attachment 8).
Chairperson Barker asked if there were any opponents or neutrals who wanted to testify before the Committee. Seeing none, he closed the hearing on HCR5003.
Chairperson Barker announced that he needed to step out of the room for a few minutes and turned the meeting over to Vice-Chairperson Highland.
