Tamera Lawrence, Revisor, presented an overview of the bill. (Attachment 1)
Aaron Popelka, V.P. of Legal and Governmental Affairs, Kansas Livestock Association (KLA) provided testimony in support of the bill. (Attachment 2) KLA policy "supports the creation of a milk marketing trust statute that gives unpaid cash sellers of milk first priority in the proceeds a dairy processor receives from the sale of milk or dairy products derived from the milk purchased from the seller."
Mr. Popelka stood for questions.
