Senator Erickson moved, Senator Owens seconded, adoption of the agency reports for the Kansas State School for the Blind and the Kansas State School for the Deaf. The motion carried.
Kansas State Department of Education: Senator Erickson noted that there is a section in the budget report concerning FY 2027 that was not mentioned during the report out. The Senator also indicated an item was left off the itemized list in the document distributed previously. Attachment 2 is a corrected version. (Attachment 2)
Senator Pettey discussed a minority report that was included in Attachment 2.
Senator Pettey moved, Senator Holscher seconded, to amend the report by restoring items 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the FY 2025 Senate Committee on Education recommendations. The motion failed.

Senator Claeys moved, Senator Owens seconded, to delete $1.6 million, including $1.5 million SGF, for the 1.0 percent salary adjustments for those employees more than 10 percent above the market. The motion carried.
Senator Claeys moved, Senator Pettey seconded, to lapse the FTE funding at the end of the fiscal year versus the beginning. The motion carried.

Senator Claeys asked to amend the request to add language exempting places that don't charge an admission fee from getting reimbursement from the Sunflower Summer program. There was consensus to include this language.
