Carly Choi, Revisor of Statutes, provided an overview of SB193 (Attachment 20).
Ed Klumpp, Legislative Liaison, Kansas Association of Police Chiefs, Kansas Sheriff’s Association, Kansas Peace Officers’ Association, provided testimony in support to SB193 (Attachment 21). The bill requests to remove the requirements of K.S.A. 65-16.127 when not issuing a drug requiring a prescription. Naloxone is no longer requires a prescription. The bill does allow provisions to obtain prescription grade opioid antagonist drug in the event something new and better comes on the market.
Mr. Klumpp responded to questions from the committee.
