Chairperson Dietrich opened the hearing on HB2046. Revisor Eileen Ma gave a summary of the bill and answered any questions. (Attachment 4)
Travis Grauerholz provided oral proponent testimony on behalf of Alex Young, Regional Director of State Relations for the American Council of Life Insurers.(Attachment 5) He stated that the bill would align statute with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners Travel Insurance Model Act. It would reduce confusion with insurers regarding filing policies under the appropriate line of business and ensure that those who purchase travel insurance have coverage for everything concerning travel related emergencies. He stood for questions from the Committee.
