Requiring the Kansas department of wildlife and parks to offer discounted resident senior combination hunting and fishing passes to residents of this state who are 65 years of age or older and removing the expiration date for Kansas kids lifetime combination hunting and fishing licenses.

The Chairman opened the hearing on HB2028.
Mike Heim, Office of the Revisor of Statutes gave a briefing(Attachment1) on HB2028 which regarded sunset on the youth licenses to hunt and fish. Additionally, it removed the sunset on senior licensing.
Chairman Carpenter testified(Attachment2) in support of HB2028 because it extended the time a young person can fish and hunt. The date was set to end discounts at year 2023, this bill changed the age to 6 or 7 for youth and removed the sunset on the discounts.
The Chairman advised there is Written Only testimony for review.
