Chair Humphries opened discussion and final action on HB2182
Natalie Scott, Office of Revisor of Statutes, gave an overview of the bill.
Representative Ward proposed an amendment that would ensure protection from abuse orders or protection from stalking orders from out-of-state would not be subject to a fee. (Attachment 19)
Representative Ward moved, Representative Barth seconded, to adopt the amendment. The motion carried
Representative Williams moved, Representative Osman seconded, to recommend HB2182 as amended favorably for passage. The motion carried.
Representative Carmichael requested that his affirmative vote be recorded.
Chair Humphies called for discussion and final action on HB2166.
Natalie Scott, Office of Revisor of Statutes, gave a brief overview of the bill.
Representative Williams moved, Representative Borjon seconded, to favorably pass HB2166 and that since it is uncontroversial in nature be placed on the Consent Calendar.
Discussion ensued.
Representative Carmichael motioned, Representative Vaughn seconded, to create a substitute motion to favorably pass HB2166 without placing it on the Consent Calendar. The motion carried.
