Short Title
Adjusting certain internal KPERS act statutory references, extending the time for filing administrative appeals and updating provisions relating to compliance with the federal internal revenue code.

Chairperson Dietrich called the meeting to order and opened the hearing on SB 64. Revisor Eileen Ma provided the Committee with a synopsis of the bill. (Attachment 1)
Alan Conroy of KPERS spoke as a proponent of the bill. (Attachment 2) Mr. Conroy stated that bill was introduced at request of the KPERS Board of Trustees to address three areas:
- Increase the time to file an administrative appeal from 30 days to 60 days;
- Keeps KPERS in compliance with Internal Revenue Code regulations; and
- Updates internal references and definitions to align with current statutes and regulations.
Mr. Conroy stood for questions from the Committee.
There were no other testimonies regarding the bill. The Chairperson closed the hearing on SB 64.
