Chairwoman Warren opened the hearing on SB84.

Natalie Scott, Revisor's Office, gave overview of the bill and stood for questions. (Attachment 15)

William Wilk, Senior Director of Government Affairs, Kansas Chamber of Commerce, provided testimony in support of the bill.  Gift cards have been the most requested holiday gift for seventeen years in a row.  Fraud and tampering with gift cards continues to grow nationwide and comes in many forms.   This bill will increase the penalties for fraudulant conduct involving gift cards.  Mr Wilk provided a slide presentation on organized retail crime and gift card fraud.  (Attachment 16)
