The Chair opened the hearing on HB2061. Jason Thompson, Office of Revisor of Statutes provided an overview of the bill. (Attachment 1)
Dayton Murty, Senior Manager of State Government of Affairs, Charter Communications testified in support of the bill. He said they support this bill to add broadband and communication cables and wires to the definition of critical infrastructure facilities. Broadband is critical to everyday life as we use it for everything from entertainment to education and for our workforce. They view this bill as closing a loophole as well as protecting cable lines. (Attachment 2)
