Chairperson Dietrich opened the hearing on SB 28. Revisor Eileen Ma provided the Committee with a brief of the bill. (Attachment 8)
Eric Turek of the Kansas Department of Insurance spoke as a proponent of the bill. (Attachment 9) He stated that the bill would bring consistency in the language between the two statutes that govern licensing for insurance agents and public adjusters so that they are in agreement.
Mr. Turek stood for questions from the Committee.
Written testimony in support of the bill was received from Craig Sepich of the National Insurance Crime Bureau. (Attachment 10)
Chairperson Dietrich closed the hearing on SB 28.
Next meeting is scheduled for February 3rd.
