Chairperson Gossage opened the hearing on HB2702. Jenna Moyer, Assistant Revisor, briefed the committee on the bill. (Attachment3) Ms. Moyer stood for questions from the committee.

Chairperson Gossage introduced Rachelle Colombo who stood in support of the bill. (Attachment4) Ms. Colombo stated the bill establishes a regulatory framework which preserves the traditional physician supervision model but also allows for a more flexible, collaborative team-based approach between a physician assistant and a physician. She requested the committee's favorable support of the bill.

Chairperson Gossage introduced Kerstin Stephens of the Kansas Academy of Physician Associates who stood in support of the bill. (Attachment5) She stated the legislation reflects best practices and supports a more efficient healthcare system with improved patient access to care. Ms. Stephens urged the committee to support this bill.
