Staff provided an overview of the bill. (Attachment 1)

Janez Lomshek testified in support of the bill on behalf of Kansas Restaurant and Hospitality Association. (Attachment 2) She said this bill adopts a temporary, narrowly tailored competitive hospitality alignment designed to support the six World Cup match days hosted locally, allows for counties to opt out of participation and statutorily sunsets following the event.  She said we want our international guests to feel at home and be able to host them with some measure of competitive alignment across our state border.
