Chairperson Gossage opened the hearing on HB2534.

Dahnika Short, Assistant Revisor, Kansas Office Revisor of Statutes, briefed the committee on the bill. (Attachment7) Ms. Short stood for questions from the committee.

Chairperson Gossage introduced Lieutenant Colonel Keith Marshall Kansas Adjutant General's Office who testified in support of the bill for the National Guard and all military families. (Attachment8)

Chairperson Gossage introduced William Wilk who spoke as a proponent for the bill. (Attachment9) Mr. Wilk stated that the bill will not only help military spouses who are respiratory therapist licensee holders but allow respiratory therapists from other states, which have passed this compact, the option to have their license recognized in Kansas. The bill would provide increased access to respiratory therapists without sacrificing safety concerns.
