Chairman Bergquist opened the hearing on HB2711.

Jason Long, Revisor of Statutes(Attachment 5) gave an overview of the bill.  He explained that the bill addresses dissolution of cities of the 3rd class.

Clay Barker, Kansas Secretary of State (Attachment 6) testified as a proponent to the bill.  He explained that the bill would modernize the statute's language and integrate the self-dissolution process into current election procedures and administrative structures.
