Chairman Bergquist opened the hearing on HB2733.

Jason Long, Revisor of Statutes (Attachment 3) gave an overview of the bill.  He explained that the bill would amend various statutes to require that elected officials remain residents of the jurisdiction for which they were elected during their term of office.

Clayton Barker, Kansas Secretary of State (Attachment 4) gave an overview of the bill. He explained that the bill would establish a uniform standard requiring candidates to remain residents of the applicable district from the time of filing through the taking of the oath of office.
