Chairman Bergquist opened the hearing on HB2624.

Jason Long, Revisor of Statutes (Attachment 1) gave an overview of the bill. He explained that the bill would allow for the disorganization of county fire districts when such district contains no territory.

Representative Tim Johnson, District 38 (Attachment 2) testified as a proponent to the bill. He explained that the language grants the county the authority to disorganize a fire district that has been altered to the point of containing no land or territory.
