Chairperson Rahjes opened the hearing on HB2582 and asked Revisor Kyle Hamilton, Office of Revisor of Statutes, to give the bill brief. (Attachment 1)

The fiscal note was addressed by Analyst Heather O'Hara, Legislative Research Department.

Chairperson Rahjes recognized Matt Teagarden who spoke on behalf of the Rural Veterinary Workforce Task Force as a Proponent. (Attachment 2)  Questions were asked and answered.

Dr. Traci Gentry, Kansas Veterinary Medical Association, offered Proponent testimony via WebEx. (Attachment 3)  Dr. Gentry answered questions from Committee members.

There were no Written-Only Proponents.

There were no Oral Opponents.

Oral Neutral testimony was presented by Representative Fred Gardner, District 9, Kansas House of Representatives. (Attachment 6)  Representative Gardner stood for questions.
