The Chair opened the hearing on HB2615

Chris Waggoner gave the committee an overview of the bill.(Attachment 5)

Lt. Col. Keith Marshall provided the committee with supporting testimony that naming a highway in honor of General George Wark would be a public affirmation  that Kansas remembers and values those who dedicated their lives to strengthening our communities and defending our nation. (Attachment 6)

Virtual proponent Andrew McBride , gave a short biography of Brigadier General George H. Wark's life who signed up with the National Guard 1909 and then  organized Company D for World War I becoming  a Captain of the 139th Infantry in 1918.  He was awarded medals of honor for  his bravery and for his ability to command in the face of extreme danger. (Attachment 7)
