The chair asked if members hve questions before they work on the bill.  

Representative Smith asked if inmates are paid on work release and if so, how much? The Chair stated we have Jennifer king, from the Kansas Department of Corrections in audience. Ms. King stated inmates on work release do have to be paid a prevailing wage of the private industry in which they work.
