Phillip A. Tomlinson spoke as a supporter of the bill. As his oldest son he is asking for support of this bill as a way to honor his late father. The proposed location for the memorial interchange is within the boundaries of the district as it was during his service as a State Representative, 1993-2003.  (Attachment 2)

Carole J. Tomlinson gave proponent testimony. Carole believes it would be a lovely and lasting tribute to her late husband. (Attachment 3)

Christopher A. Tomlinson spoke as a proponent of the bill. He stated that by having the interchange of I-35 and 18th Street Expressway/US 69 is one way of documenting the stories that many people shared with him about his dad and how he inspired them. (Attachment 4)

Ryan T. Petersen gave testimony in support of SB321. He said this bill is something more than just naming an interchange on a road. It is about making a statement. The message this bill sends to everyone is that Kansas, no matter what is going on in the rest of the world or the U.S., values people above all else. (Attachment 5)

Jeff Jackson spoke of his long friendship with Representative Tomlinson and that passing this bill would honor his legacy. (Attachment 6)

Michael M. Poppa supports the passage of SB321. He said it is fitting to honor Representative Tomlinson at the specific junction of I-35 and U.S. Highway 69 and 18th Street Expressway in Johnson County as this interchange serves as the physical gateway to his former house district, linking the state highway system to the very streets of Roeland Park that Representative Tomlinson walked as a local official. (Attachment 7)
