Chairperson Waymaster informed committee members that he and Speaker Hawkins worked on some type of legislature oversight regarding the rural transformation healthcare grant awarded to Kansas in late December 2025, and worked with the Governor's Office on the expenditure reports legislators would receive in the future. The initial bill introduced looked starkly different than HB2555, due to the rural transformation healthcare grant being non-discretionary and the funds not being dispersed until after the transformation healthcare plan measures have been met.
Opponent written-only testimony was provided by Beth Oller, MD, FAAFP, President, Kansas Academy of Family Physicians. (Attachment 4)
Chairperson Waymaster asked if anyone wanted to speak to the bill.
No in-person opponent testimony or in-person or written neutral testimony was provided.
