Chairman Goetz opened the meeting on HB2382 at 3:30pm

Minutes for February 13th and 17th were presented for approval. Representative Estes moved to accept the minutes as presented. Representative McNorton seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Chairman Goetz asked Nick Meyers, Office of Reviser of  Statutes, to speak about the balloon amendment on HB2382. Mr Meyers spoke to the language of the amendment. (Attachment 1)

Chairman Goetz asked Dr Frank Harwood to clarify the language of the amendment to make sure the school board members were properly paid for in state and travel meetings.

Tom Day, Director of Legislative Administrative Services, verified the actual pay per day of the Kansas School Board.

Representative Hill moved to accept the balloon amendment to HB2382 with the exception of making a change in line 20 to replace the first "and" with "or". Representative McDonald seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Representative Estes moved to report, as amended, HB2382 favorably. Representative Schwertfeger seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Chairman Goetz adjourned the meeting at 4:25 pm
