Chairman Jason Goetz opened the hearing on HB2382 .

Nick Meyers, Reviser of Statutes Office, provided an overview of the bill and the formula used to determine pay rates. (Attachment 1)

Written only proponent testimony was submitted by Cathy Hopkins and Danny Zeck,  Kansas State Board Education. (Attachment 2)  The hearing was closed on HB2382.

 Chairman Goetz invited Dr. Harwood, Deputy Commissioner of Fiscal and Administrative Services, Kansas State Department of Education provide more details and information about funding formulas and how the pay schedule is figured.  He did not submit written testimony.

Representative Estes moved, Representative Schwertfeger seconded, to suspend the rules and allow the committee to work the bill today. Motion passed.

Nick Myers, Office of Reviser of Statues, described a technical amendment to allow to updating the language on lines 13 and 20. 

Representative Johnson moved  Representative  Estes seconded, to approve the amendment as proposed. Motion passed.

Representative Johnson moved, Representative Estes seconded, to approve HB2382 as amended. Motion passed.
