Chairperson Dietrich opened the hearing on SB284.
Revisor Jason Long gave an overview of the bill. (Attachment 1)
Senator Bruce Givens spoke as a proponent of the bill and answered questions from the Representatives. His years of working in Special Education in Butler County gave him insight into the complexities of parking issues for persons with disabilities and the complexities of making schools accessible to those who need to park in close areas. He described SB284 as a simple bill that will help students and families who need this type of assistance. (Attachment 2)
There was a brief discussion with Senator Givens and the Representatives.
