(Attachment 2)Mr. Klumpp stated the language as written in section 1 subsection(a)(51) adds employees of the department of corrections, local correctional officer or local dentition officer to protect their home addresses from public records. Corrections personnel are at just as much risk as commissioned law enforcement officers for bodily harm and threats.
Deborah Barnes Provided testimony in support of the bill. (Attachment 3) Ms. Barnes stated that the bill will amend the section of the Kansas Open Records Act that lists the categories where a public agency has discretion as to whether to disclose records.
