Minutes Content for Wed, Mar 11, 2020
Staff explained the bill.
Chairman Proehl recognized Senator Randall Hardy. (Attachment 7) Senator Hardy discussed his support of having a distinctive license plate benefiting the Love, Chloe Foundation. This is a Salina-based foundation that helps children with cancer. The foundation raises funds to support a program for children missing school due to cancer. It also provides financial assistance to Kansas families and works to raise awareness about childhood cancer.
The Chairman recognized Heidi Feyerherm-Smith who is the founder and president of the Love, Chloe Foundation. (Attachment 8) She said she started this foundation when her seven-year old daughter lost the battle with cancer. She described the work of the foundation in supporting families and classmates of children with cancer and funding research into childhood cancer.
There were no opponents and no neutrals so the Chairman closed the hearing on SB315 and opened the hearing on SB275.
