Chairperson Bowers opened the hearing on HB2583. Mike Heim, staff revisor, presented a briefing on the bill.
Amanda Stanley testified in support of HB2583. Ms. Stanley indicated the goal of the bill isn't to change the procedure for when a city vacates a street. Ms. Stanley explained the goal of the legislation is to clean up the statutory language so that everyone can actually understand what the statutes are directing them to do, and make it easy for local city officials and citizens alike to understand the process. Ms. Stanley responded to questions from the Committee. (Attachment 6)
