Jason Thompson gave a brief on HB2449 explaining that the bill changes the requirements for the Kansas Board of Indigents' Defense Services appointments. (Attachment 4)
Heather Cessna testified in support of HB2449 explaining that there is currently a vacancy that needs to be filled and there is an attorney to fill that spot, but they have reached their quota of attorneys on the board. This revision allows for population growth in the counties served and reapportions the attorney to public ratio on the committee. (Attachment 5)
