Chairperson Bowers continued the hearing on SB248 for the opponents.
Amanda Stanley, representing John Goodyear, testified in opposition of SB248. Ms. Stanley stated they understand the purpose behind this legislation and agree increased transparency is good. Ms. Stanley voiced concern as to whether or not the increased costs that will be borne by increased property taxes is worth the benefit. Ms. Stanley indicated that the process in Basehor worked--the citizens found out about it, they received notice, they showed up to the public hearing, they made their objections known, the city decided not to enter the extraterritorial zoning process. Ms. Stanley responded to questions from the Committee. (Attachment 1)
