Chairman Suellentrop opened the hearing on SB359.
Scott Abbott, Staff Revisor gave an overview of SB359.
Pam Scott presented proponent testimony in support of SB359 stating that the passage of SB359 wold remove the limit on the amount of funds a person can place in an irrevocable prearranged funeral agreement. Current law provides that $7,000 plus the retail price of a casket, urn and outside burial container can be placed in an irrevocable account. (Attachment 8)
She answered questions from committee members.
Chairman Suellentrop closed the hearing on SB359.
Senator Pettey requested that research staff provide information from previous testimony on SB252.
Senator Bollier asked Chairman Suellentrop if additional testimony could be submitted on SB252 at the next scheduled hearing date. He said it could.
Chairman Suellentrop adjourned the meeting at 10:08 a.m. The next scheduled meeting is February 18, 2020.
