Adam Siebers provided information on HB2005 stating the bill would allow the taxpayer to use itemized deductions on the state income tax return regardless if they use itemized deduction or standard deduction on federal income tax return beginning in tax year 2019.
Representative Mason moved, seconded by Representative Phillips, to amend HB2005. (Attachment 6).
Representative Thimesch moved, seconded by Representative Helgerson a substitute motion to amend HB2005 changing 2020 to 2019. Division was called and the motion failed 7 Ayes and 14 Nays and Representative Alcala voting no.
Representative Mason moved, seconded by Representative Thimesch, the Committee recommend HB2005 be passed as amended. Motion carried with Representative Alcala voting no.
