Chairman Sutton opened the hearing on HB 2512.
Mike Heim, staff revisor, briefed the committee on the bill.
The following proponents gave verbal testimony:
- Jay Hall,proponent stated, access to the polls is an important part of democracy. (Attachment 1)
- Jim Howell, proponent, stated that last Tuesday's Democratic Caucus in Iowa shows how badly things can go if unproven technology does not work correctly. (Attachment2)
- Secretary of State, Scott Schwab, opponent, stated the vote centers are a substantial change to election administration, and we should not be eager to compromise security and trust in our elections. (Attachment 3)
