Natalie Scott provided an overview of HB2521. Ms Scott stood for questions. (Attachment 1)
Libby Snyder provided testimony in support of the bill. Ms Snyder stated the bill is necessary because it improves current athlete agent law in Kansas adapting to changing activities in the extremely competitive environment in which athlete agents operate. The bill provided rules to not only protect education institutions in Kansas, but student athletes that attend them as well. This legislation also delivers clear and succinct guidelines for athlete agents operating within the state. Ms. Snyder stood for questions. (Attachment 2)
Chairperson Patton closed the hearing on HB2521.
Chairperson Patton said a new agenda would be coming out moving hearings scheduled for Wednesday to Thursday due to the Legislature being closed on Wednesday.
