Chairperson Smith opened the hearing on HB 2527.
Jessica Pringle, Office of Revisor of Statutes, provided an explanation of the bill. Ms. Pringle responded to questions from the Committee.
Joseph House, Executive Director Emergency Service Board, testified as a proponent for HB2527. (Attachment1) Mr. House expressed his support of bill and stood for questions from the Committee.
Dr. Craig A. Concannon, Vice Chairperson Advisory Committee on Trauma, testified as a proponent for HB2527. (Attachment2) Dr. Concannon discussed the importance of the peer review process, conducted after a trauma patient has been treated. The proposed changes in the bill would improve the quality of the peer review process by improving overall trauma care for future patients. Dr. Concannon responded to questions from Committee.
Wendy O'Hare, Director Trauma Program, testified as a proponent for HB2527. Ms. O'Hare provided background on trauma programs and the impact adjusting the sunset provision would have on trauma centers. Ms. O'Hare responded to questions from Committee. (Attachment3)
