Chairperson Kerschen called for final action on HB2085.
Tamera Lawrence of the Revisor of Statutes Office explained the bill.
At the request of Chairperson Kerschen, Tamera passed out a balloon amendment to committee members.(Attachment 4) Leo Henning, Secretary of Kansas Department of Health and Environment, explained the amendment. In response to a question, Mr. Henning noted that the wording in the balloon was also part of Senate Bill 171 and that there were no opponents during the hearing on SB171 in the Senate Utilities Committee.
Senator Francisco moved and Senator Estes seconded the adoption of the proposed balloon amendment. Motion carried.
Senator Francisco moved and Senator Taylor seconded that HB2085, as amended, be recommended favorably for passage. Motion carried.
