Adam Siebers, Assistant Revisor, provided an overview on HB2398 stating in order to enact a new sales tax exemption effective on or after July 1, 2019, an existing exemption would be repealed or suspended of equal or greater fiscal liability to the State.
Proponent:
Representative Thimesch testified as a proponent to HB2398 stating if a sales tax exemption is enacted, one exemption would have to be suspended (Attachment 1). He remarked the bill would broaden the base and remove exemptions that are no longer needed.
There were no opponents or neutral conferees for HB2398.
