Mr. Siebers provided an overview on HB2372 stating it would impose a new registration fee on electric and hybrid passenger vehicles. The annual registration fee for those vehicles would be $150.00 and $75.00 respectively.
Kathleen Smith provided an overview on the fiscal note for HB2372 stating the estimated increase for FY2020 for the State Highway Fund would be $305,048. and for a full year it would increase to $610,000. She commented 11,400 electric and hybrid vehicles are registered, compared to 1,341 vehicles registered in 2017. Th estimate was based on those numbers.
